Kurdish Political Parties Evacuate Former Iraqi Regime's Buildings in Diyala(IKJ)

According to local news sources, Kurdish political parties have agreed to evacuate the governmental buildings that they use as offices in Diyala, without specifying an exact date for the evacuation. "Kurdish [political] parties in Jalawla,Saadiya, Khanaqin, and Qartapa agreed to evacuate the governmental buildings that they use as offices," Serchal Adnan, head of the Jalawla branch of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK – President Jalal Talabani's party) said, according the local news sources. "During last month, Iraqi army and police, in addition to the districts' mayors, sent us memos that we should evacuate our offices," he said. "We will abide our leadership's orders and will evacuate the governmental buildings that we use as offices," he added. "During the coming days, we will move to other not governmental buildings," he explained. "We don't mind implementing the law, especially that it includes all political parties, with[OUT] any discrimination on sect or race bases," he proceeded. After the collapse of the Saddam's regime in 2003, Kurdish and Iraqi political parties occupied many governmental offices for their political purposes. However, the current Iraqi regime demanded evacuation of those buildings in all Iraqi cities. But Kurdish political parties refused to abide Baghdad's orders to evacuate their offices in the disputed province of Diyala, yet recently Kurdish leaders ordered the evacuation of these offices.
